We’ve compiled a list of some Independence Day Celebrations in our area. Please check to make make sure that the weather has not moved or canceled the event.
JULY 1:
Clarkstown (West Nyack): Felix Festa Middle School, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. includes activities for kids and live music.
Newburgh: Cronomer Hill Park, July 1 at dusk.
Ossining: Waterfront at Engel Park, July 1 at dusk. Fireworks follows the concert series. Food trucks and beverages will be available to purchase. Rain date July 8.
White Plains: White Plains High School, July 1 at 6 p.m.
JULY 2:
Rye: Playland will be hosting firework displays the entire holiday weekend, beginning July 2. On July 2, 3, and 4, fireworks will light up the sky beginning at 9:15 p.m. Firework displays will continue every Friday through the summer. Visit playland.com/shows for more information.
West Point: The West Point Band will perform at Trophy Point Amphitheater. Join them as they take part in the “Independence Day Celebration”. The performance begins at 7:30 pm and will be followed by a fireworks display over the Hudson River at about 9:30. Blankets and picnics are welcome. The rain date is Sunday, July 3rd. Leave plenty of time to pass security. ID required.
JULY 3:
Brewster: DiCicco Family Markets, July 3 at 7:30 p.m
Haverstraw: Bowline Park, July 2 at 5 p.m.
New Rochelle: Spark the Sound will begin at 9 p.m., rain or shine, with a waterfront display of fireworks. For ideal viewing, head to Hudson Park, Joe Curtis Five Islands Park, and any waterfront restaurants. Go to newrochelleny.com for additional information.
Peekskill: At the city’s Riverfront Green at dusk on July 3rd will be fireworks. On July 1, there will be a parade through the city beginning at 7 p.m. at the Central Fire House, Broad Street, and Park Street, and ending on Water Street near Central Avenue. A Laser Light Show will follow the parade at the Riverfront Green. On July 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. Gentlemen of Soul will perform at the Riverfront Green. Pomona (first night): Palisades Credit Union Park, July 3 at 6 p.m.
Pound Ridge: Town Park, July 2 at 4:30 p.m. From 4 to 9:30 p.m. at Town Park, 199 Westchester Ave., the fireworks celebration will feature food trucks and music by DJ Dieter. Parking permits are required and must be purchased in advance. They’re free for residents of Pound Ridge and $30 for non-residents. Valhalla: Kensico Dam Plaza, July 3 with festivities kicking off at 5 p.m with a DJ and the FDR Drive Band at 7 pm, fireworks will begin at dark. parks.westchestergov.com/music-fest-and-fireworks for more information.
Wappinger Falls: Dutchess Stadium, July 3 at 6:05 p.m.
JULY 4:
Kingston: Mike Wallace Park, July 4 at 10 p.m.
Larchmont: Manor Park, July 4 at 7 p.m.
Mamaroneck: The fireworks display will begin around 9:15 p.m., in Harbor Island Park. The rain date is set for July 5. The fireworks accompany the village’s annual Fireman’s Carnival. Check out village.mamaroneck.ny.us for more information. 123 Mamaroneck Ave.
New Rochelle: Can be viewed from Fire Islands or Hudson parks, fireworks begin around 9 p.m.
New York City: Macy’s 46th Annual July 4th Fireworks in New York City will begin at 8 p.m. Five barges will align themselves along the East River near Manhattan’s midtown. Check out their website to learn about the best viewing locations macys.com/social/fireworks
Nyack: Memorial Park, July 4 at 9:30 p.m.
Port Chester: Port Chester High School, July 4 at 7 p.m. Fireworks will follow a performance by the Westchester Brassmen. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the celebration begins at 9 p.m. at Port Chester High School, 1 Tamarack Road.
Poughkeepsie: Walkway Over the Hudson, July 4 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased and those ticket holders will be permitted onto the walkway from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. For more information, visit walkway.org/event/fireworks-over-the-hudson-river.
Tarrytown: Beginning at 7 p.m. with Kick-Start Charlie performing at Pierson Park, 238 West Main St. Fireworks will follow. There will be a “Food Truck Alley” at the park’s parking lot “E” though visitors are welcome to picnic. Visit tarrytownny.gov for additional information.
Yonkers: The Pier, July 4 at 7 p.m. A fireworks celebration will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. with a DJ performance at the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Amphitheater. Fireworks will begin at about 9:15 p.m.
