Chicory Meadow Cortlandt Manor farm offers English riding instruction for all levels of experience with an emphasis on basics and the creation of good riding habits. We start with the Balanced Seat, which is an all-purpose seat, from which a rider can adapt to any style of riding. Students will learn to walk, trot, canter and eventually, jump with lots of hard work and preparation.

Instruction is offered to both adults and children, covering a wide range of experiences. We are happy to customize lessons according to the needs, abilities, and goals of the rider. Pleasure riders are always welcomed.

Our lesson program has been designed to build confidence, promote inner strength and create a healthy respect for horses. We do not push our students to do exercises they have not been properly prepared for because it is not fair to the rider or to the horse.
