McCarthy, and their mother, Maureen, moved to Cortlandt with their family of five in 1962. Since then, The McCarthy Law Firm, P.C. has provided sound advice and counsel to those needing legal services in our area.

Judge Daniel Sr. served as Town Justice in Cortlandt for 30 years with distinction and honor. Over the years, he represented thousands of clients and actively participated in community affairs.

Following that tradition, his son, Dan F. McCarthy, Esq., served as Cortlandt Town Justice and Buchanan Acting Village Justice for a total of 16 Years of judicial experience. Dan has also worked as a Municipal Attorney, representing local Municipal, Planning, and Zoning Boards.

Dan, along with his wife Mitra, raised four children in Cortlandt. Throughout the years, he served the community as a youth sports coach and sponsor, a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and a Boy Scout leader.
